Get five fresh ad creatives every day
Every day, Tolstoy makes five new static ad concepts from what competitors keep running, each matched to a top-selling product, in 1:1 and 4:5 with copy.

- A connected Meta Ads account
- Your Shopify catalog, used to match each angle to a top-selling product
- A recent Competitor Weekly Pulse report (optional). Without one, the routine scans competitor ads itself
What you get
- Ten images: five ads, each in 1:1 and 4:5
- A copy set for each ad: headline, body copy, overlay text and CTA
- A summary table with the source competitor, the hook and the reason each angle was picked
How it runs
Tolstoy runs this playbook in 5 steps.
-
Start from competitor ads
The routine uses a Competitor Weekly Pulse report from the last 7 days, or scans the Meta Ad Library and treats ads active 14+ days as the signal.
-
Pick five new angles
Each angle comes from a different competitor or category trend, has a stated reason, and does not repeat the last five daily runs.
-
Match real products
Each angle gets the closest top-selling Shopify product by category and price point, spread across different products.
-
Generate two sizes with copy
Each ad is made in 1:1 and 4:5 with your product image as the anchor, plus a headline, body copy, overlay text and a specific CTA.
-
Choose what to ship
The run ends with a table of the five ads, with the source, hook and reason for each, so you pick which ones to upload.
Check the result
- Each image shows your real product: shape, color, logo and label text match the catalog photo.
- No competitor brand name or logo appears in any image or line of copy.
- The five ads use five different angles and more than one product, and no angle repeats from the last five days.
Know the limits
- It never publishes. The ads stay in Tolstoy, and you upload the ones you pick to your ad account.
- Static images in 1:1 and 4:5 only. It does not make video or 9:16 sizes.
- Ad libraries show no spend, so "what works" means ads still running after 14+ days, not proven results.
When to use this playbook
Use it when your ad account needs a steady supply of new creative to test and nobody has time to research and brief it every day. The routine does the research-to-concept work on a schedule, so the human step is deciding which of five ads to ship. For why fresh creative keeps Meta costs down, read why Meta ads get expensive and how AI fixes creative.
Get better results
- Set up the Competitor Weekly Pulse routine as well. The daily run uses its latest report as the main input, so angles come from a full week of research.
- Keep product images clean and current in Shopify. Every ad uses your product image as the anchor, so a weak image shows in all ten files.
- For a second batch on the same day, reply “regenerate” in the run chat. Otherwise a repeat run on the same day stops and points to the existing batch.
Schedule
Every day at 7:00 in your time zone; you can change the time. “Set up this routine” opens the routine in Tolstoy, where you check its connections and time. Nothing runs until you save it.
FAQ
Can AI make ad creative for Meta ads?
Yes. This routine makes five static Meta ad concepts every day, in 1:1 feed and 4:5 vertical sizes, each built on your real product image and based on what competitors keep running. You review them in Tolstoy and upload the ones you want.
Does it copy competitor ads?
No. It takes the angle, the reason an ad works, and applies it to your product. Brand names are removed from the image prompts, and your own product image is the anchor for every image.
What if there is no competitor data?
The routine still runs. It uses your earlier Studio chats and your brand context to pick the five angles.
